Your children’s safety is our first priority! See what we are doing to keep your child healthy and safe:
Temperature Screens- Temperature readings are a part of the daily health check for students and staff upon entry. Any person with a temperature reading of 100.3 or higher is not permitted to enter the building. Teachers of everyone on site is checked twice each day- once upon arrival and once at noon.
Designated Areas- All children and teachers have assigned classrooms where they stay throughout the day. There is limited movement of children and teachers to prevent the spread of COVID-19 if there were a case in our school. Aside from outdoor play time, everyone stays put in their designated areas. We have temporarily suspended all large group activities.
Symptom Isolation- Should any child become ill and demonstrate symptoms of COVID-19 while in our care, the child’s parents will be called to pick them up immediately. They will be separated from the rest of the children and supervised by a staff member independently until they are picked up.
Cleaning and Sanitizing- As a licensed childcare program, we are always required to have a system in place to keep our program clean. In these times we have gone above and beyond with our practices. We have temporarily removed soft toys that cannot be wiped down from the rooms. Teachers are also completing sanitizing throughout the day. As an extra measure, we have a staff member who completes cleaning and sanitizing of high touch surfaces in all classrooms in the middle of the day. All of our disinfectants are EPA registered.
Limited Entry- Only children and staff members are allowed entry into the building. Entry to the building only occurs if the health check has been completed.
Frequent Handwashing- Normally in childcare, hands are to be washed multiple times by staff and children throughout the day: at the start of the day, before and after eating, when coming in from outside, after diapering or toileting, and after handling any bodily fluids. We now also do random "hand washing reminders” where we instruct teachers and children to wash their hands throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is also available in every classroom.
